This Biniboo Quiet book Watermelon activity page is great for counting and learning numbers.
If you just started planning your quiet book, I suggest you read the Essential Guide to quiet books, where you can read about the process of making a quiet book. You will understand the correlation between page preparations and busy book bindings.
IIf you want to use the no-sew method, I kindly suggest reading an article about gluing before you start, to find out if your glue is suitable for making no-sew quiet book activities. Also, do a test and make sure your hot glue doesn’t melt the felt.
If you will make a sewn quiet book, make sure you know how to sew felt in quiet books correctly.
In these instructions, I use the temperature, steam, and time conditions for felt and fusible interfacing, which you can find in our store. If you are using felt or fusible interfacing from somewhere else, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
I suggest you always try on a small felt piece if there are any changes when ironing.

NO-SEW INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
If you haven’t already, first, create a felt page base. Download and print the FREE PDF Watermelon Quiet Book pattern for this activity and cut out all the shapes. You can find the pattern at the bottom of the page.
Put the paper pieces on a stiff felt, transcribe them, and then cut them out from felt. If you don’t want to waste hours searching for all the materials you need and transcribing and cutting the felt, check my DIY store where you can buy a pre-cut DIY kit for this activity page.

STEP 2
Draw a circle of radius r = 8 cm (3 ⅛ in) on the cotton fabric page base, with the help of a drawing compass. The circle should the middle of the page, equally distanced from the edges. Using a compass, divide the circle into six equal parts.
Draw over the drawn lines with a persistent textile pen. Feel free to choose any color.
STEP 3
Place the numbers (1 – 6) and loop (soft) squares on the quiet book page base. First, glue the squares on the prepared page. Glue the numbers also. You can use permanent fabric glue instead of hot glue gun – it is easier to use it because numbers are small, and with a hot glue gun, you can quickly burn your fingers.
STEP 4
Iron on stiff fusible interfacings to the pink triangles. Use the maximum temperature and turn off the steam. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
Put 21 black drops on pink triangles, as shown in the photo. Now glue the black drops on the pink triangles.
STEP 5
Align the pink triangles with the green triangles, as shown. Glue them together.
STEP 6
Align the triangles with the right numbers on the page. Mark the location of the hook square, using tailor chalk or erasable fabric marker. It’s best to mark the approximate center, so you’ll know where to glue the hook (rough) square on the green felt triangle.
It’s important to mark which triangle belongs to which number. The locations of loop squares are not the same and can slightly vary from one another. The hook square on the green triangle must match the loop square on the page.
STEP 7
Glue the hook squares on the marked spots on the green triangles. Squeeze the hook & green triangle hard to make sure it’s glued firmly. If you are using permanent fabric glue, make a test first if the glue is strong enough when dry.
Put the finished triangles on the hooks on the page.
You finished the Biniboo Quiet Book Watermelon page. Congrats!
